In reply to Susan Ditmire. I haven't done much research into Eleanor, but with this story and the article I did on her and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, she has me intrigued. I will definitely have to read more about her conquest throughout history.

Correct, I would say the main reason was because of the economy; however, I would venture to bet that the attack on the Bonus Marchers didn’t help…

While the Bonus March, and the marchers, were important, Hoover lost the election of 1932 because of the depression.
