Keats wrote poetry. Poetry is entitled to be fictional if it wants, even extending to alternate history. If Keats was confused about Balboa, that is worth mentioning for curiosity’s sake, but it does not detract from the value of the poem.

Have you ever seen Raphael’s “School of Athens” There are scientists, philosophers and mathematicians from different periods in history all hanging out in the school. Could it be true? Nope. Do we accept it as is? Yep. Why is fantastic imagery okay for artist, but not poets?

I ran across something amazing and because this website is the "go to" when it comes to history, I thought I'd share it here. Talking about gross inaccuracies, this is a jumping the shark mistake. Imagine—an accredited university with a diverse and populous student body making this kind of farcical footprints in the concrete kind of mistake. It really boggles my mind. Don't know much about history.
