(I’m one of those lucky few who are genetically programmed NOT to contract malaria.) But have followed the disease’s progression throughout history. Here are a couple of blogs on malaria treatment in the 19th. Century – one of the biggest problems of explorers and others in moving about Africa:

I always tend to think of diseases as a new concept. So, I find it extremely interesting that we have diseases that we haven’t been able to conquer for thousand of years.
